Becky is the CEO of Radial, the Emeryville, CA-based life sciences division of the Astera Institute. The nonprofit made news in March when it committed $500 million to Radial with a mission to reimagine data generation, sharing, infrastructure and tools necessary to create the best conditions for AI to help solve biological problems. Becky called it “unglamorous, unsexy infrastructure and tools” in an interview with STAT.
Becky comes to this work with a wide range of experiences in science. She started in academia, moved to industry labs, and eventually migrated to the business side of the biotech industry. She was most recently on the investing team at Andreesen Horowitz’s Bio & Health Fund.
